How does saving with Littlebit work?

Modified on Thu, 20 Nov at 10:02 AM

Saving with the Littlebit app is automatic and simple. It's on autopilot.

The app connects to your bank account and payment card, tracks your card payments, and sets aside small amounts from each one based on a percentage that you set yourself.

Here's how it works:

  • The app retrieves information about your card payments from your connected bank account (card payments only appear in the app once they have been processed by your bank; until then, the app does not know about them).

  • It calculates the amount from each payment according to the percentage you have chosen (for example, 5% of each card payment). If the calculated amount is high, the app caps it and always credits you with a maximum of CZK 500.

  • These amounts are gradually added up until they exceed the CZK 350 milestone.

  • Once the milestone is exceeded, the app automatically purchases Bitcoin. Only at this point is the money deducted from your card for savings. Until you exceed CZK 350, the savings are only a virtual addition to your piggy bank and the money remains in your account.

  • The purchased Bitcoin will immediately appear in the app in the Bitcoin tab.

The entire process is fully automatic – you don't have to confirm anything or enter anything manually.

You can adjust your savings at any time to suit your needs:

  • change the percentage that is set aside from purchases,

  • pause your savings,

  • reactivate them,

  • add bank accounts from which the app receives payment information,

  • change or remove bank accounts.

The Littlebit app provides you with clear information about every purchase and your savings progress. This means you always know how much you have saved, how much is earmarked for purchases, and how the value of your Bitcoin is developing.
