How Does Saving with Littlebit Work?

Modified on Sun, 1 Mar at 4:04 PM

Saving with the Littlebit app is simple and fully automatic - once set up, it runs on autopilot.

The app connects to your bank account and payment card, retrieves information about your card payments, and sets aside small amounts from each payment based on a percentage you choose. Once the accumulated amount exceeds the CZK 350 milestone, it is automatically used to purchase Bitcoin.

Here's how it works:

  • The app retrieves information about your card payments from your connected bank account (card payments only appear in the app once they have been posted by your bank; until then, the app has no visibility of them).

  • From each payment, the app calculates a savings amount based on your selected percentage (for example, 5% of each card payment). If the calculated amount is unusually high, it is capped - the app will set aside a maximum of CZK 500 per transaction

  • These savings amounts accumulate until they exceed the CZK 350 milestone.

  • Once the milestone is reached, the app automatically executes a Bitcoin purchase. Only at this moment is the corresponding amount charged to your card. Until you reach CZK 350, savings exist only virtually - amounts are added to your in-app “savings balance,” while your money remains in your bank account.

  • The purchased Bitcoin appears immediately in the Bitcoin tab in the app.

The entire process is fully automatic. You don't need to manually confirm or enter anything.

You can adjust your savings at any time:

  • change the percentage set aside from purchases,

  • pause or reactivate your savings,

  • add, change, or remove connected bank accounts.

The Littlebit app keeps you informed about every Bitcoin purchase and your savings progress. You can always see how much you have accumulated, how much is approaching the next milestone, and how your Bitcoin value is evolving.
